The Lenovo Legion Go 2 price is skyrocketing, and the latest hike hits the best version money can buy.

The 2TB handheld with 32GB of RAM and an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme originally cost $1,479.99, but it’s now $2,849.99 on Lenovo’s website. That’s up $1,370 from its launch price in October last year, an over 92% price increase.

If you’re desperate for the 2TB model, act quickly, as one retailer is still selling at the lower price. As spotted by NotebookCheck, B&H continues to sell at $1,849.99, saving you $1,000 compared with Lenovo’s direct pricing.

It’s unclear how long this stock will last, and it may mean B&H raises its price once its existing inventory is sold out. PCMag was unable to find the handheld at other retailers, with both Best Buy and Costco out of stock at the time of publication.

Lenovo has yet to comment on why the price is increasing, but it’s likely due to the ongoing global memory crisis, which is impacting many areas of consumer tech. Earlier in April, Lenovo changed the prices of its lower-tier Legion Go 2 models.

The AMD Ryzen Z2 version with 16GB of RAM saw a 36% price increase, bringing it to $1,499.99. The Ryzen Z2 Extreme with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of space jumped higher to $1,999.99, up 48%.

Drip-feeding price increases rather than acting across all models is proving confusing to customers, making it unpredictable when to pick up new gadgets.

PCMag’s review of the Lenovo Legion Go 2, testing the Z2 Extreme with 1TB of storage version, said, “While much improved, Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 isn’t the generational leap forward fans may have wanted. Still, it’s a respectable upgrade for anyone who wants decent handheld PC gaming performance while keeping Windows 11 on board.”

The review also criticized the handheld’s price, but this was before any hikes took effect. The Legion Go 2 was $400 more than the original Lenovo handheld, meaning this latest model is now far beyond the price of the first-gen console.
