Meituan’s international food delivery brand, Keeta, officially launched in Doha, Qatar, on Aug. 19, marking the company’s second market in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia. Local users can now order from brands including Jollibee through the platform. Keeta said it aims to enhance the food delivery experience for Qatari consumers while supporting local restaurants, delivery riders, and partners—contributing to the country’s digital economy growth. Keeta first debuted in Hong Kong in May 2023, quickly rising to capture a 44% market share by May 2024, becoming the city’s largest delivery platform. In September 2024, Keeta entered Saudi Arabia, expanding to 20 cities and ranking among the top three delivery platforms within a year. Meituan said Keeta plans to continue expanding across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait. The company also announced plans to launch in Brazil in the coming months, aiming to bring instant retail and delivery services to South American consumers. [iThome, in Chinese]
