Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand, Redmi, on Thursday launched the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, featuring the world’s first Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen3 chipset built on TSMC’s 4nm process technology. Equipped with a 6,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, the mid-ranger with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at RMB 1,999 ($285). The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ introduces the self-developed T1 signal enhancement chip for improved mobile networks and GPS signals, the company said. Last week, market analysis firm Omdia released a list of the top ten best-selling smartphones globally for the first half of 2024, with a Redmi phone being the only Chinese brand to make it into the top ten. In the first six months of 2024, the Redmi 13C sold 11.8 million units and ranked eighth in the global market by sales. [Redmi Weibo, in Chinese]
