Sandisk has introduced a new line of industrial-grade memory cards at Embedded World 2026 in Germany. The cards are based on the manufacturer’s latest BiCS8 TLC NAND technology, designed to provide removable flash storage for data-intensive applications and will ship in two form factors: the IX QD352 in microSD and the IX LD352 in SD.
“Industrial systems require reliable and continuous performance”says Russell Ruben, Global Marketing Director of the Automotive and IoT Segment at Sandisk. “As a result, we see growing demand for industrial-grade removable storage that can support workloads in a variety of use cases and environments. The new SANDISK industrial cards have been designed to offer reliable storage solutions with long operational life cycles ».
Designed to support expanding workloads at the edge, they promise durability and sustained performance in automation, robotics and the Internet of Things, with capabilities such as:
- High resistance for continuous operation. Designed for demanding duty cycles with an expected nominal resistance of up to 768 TBW¹, helping to extend life in always-on and write-intensive applications.
- Sustained performance in real conditions. They enable A2 (microSD™) application performance with read/write IOPS greater than 4000/2000², along with V30 video class for continuous 4K UHD³ video recording and high-resolution (projected) image capture.
- Engineered for long-term reliability in harsh environments– Industrial use with extended operating temperatures of -25°C to 85°C and -40°C to 85°C respectively, with integrated condition monitoring to facilitate predictive maintenance and help reduce unexpected failures.
- High capacity for industrial systems. Sandisk’s fifth-generation industrial SD and microSD™ cards offer 128GB to 256GB4 and support data-intensive logging, vision, and edge workloads in a removable format.
During the German Embedded Conference, Sandisk also announced that its Milpitas and Bengaluru facilities have successfully obtained TISAX AL2 (“Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange”) certification. Widely adopted by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and tier-one suppliers, TISAX is the industry framework developed by the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA) to ensure consistent and standardized information security assessments across the entire automotive supply chain. TISAX AL2 is one of the most common requirements among European car manufacturers and is Designed for organizations that handle sensitive information.
