The luxury builder Ferrari evolves its strategy by unveiling the Luceits first fully electric production vehicle. While the luxury automobile industry is going through a zone of turbulence, the prancing horse firm is bringing a secret five-year project to fruition.

This strategic launch aims to capture a new generation of wealthy clients, particularly in Asia, while reinventing the brand’s aesthetic codes in collaboration with the LoveFrom collective of Jony Ive.

This new 1,000 horsepower model integrates four electric motors and is equipped, for the first time in the history of the brand, with five seats.

Why does the Ferrari Luce represent a major aesthetic breakthrough?

The Ferrari Luce breaks the traditional visual codes of Maranello by adopting a one-piece glass body silhouette and fluid lines dictated by aerodynamics.

This radical choice eliminates the aggressive and muscular lines of the old thermal models in favor of a refined body and a five-seat cabin. The influence of design automobile minimalist design by Jony Ive, the former Apple designer, is immediately felt both outside and inside the cabin.

Inside, the physical buttons in anodized aluminum coexist with OLED screens circulars. The disappearance of the legendary thermal engine in favor of a flat architecture has made it possible to optimize space, offering a generous 600-liter trunk to appeal to wealthy families.

This aesthetic bet remains extremely polarizingreactions oscillating on social networks between pure genius and industrial betrayal.

What are the technical performances of this electric Ferrari?

This new electric vehicle develops combined power greater than 1,000 horsepower thanks to the integration of four independent motors placed on each wheel.

The instantaneous thrust allows you to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 secondspropelling the 2.2 tonnes of the machine at a maximum speed of 310 km/h.

This technical architecture guarantees exceptional agility thanks to a vector torque system (independent management of the force sent to each wheel) taken to the extreme.

The monstrous 122 kWh battery offers autonomy greater than 500 kilometers and receives an ultra-fast recharge of 350 kW on an 800 volt architecture.

To make up for the lack of sound, engineers installed an accelerometer (vibration and movement sensor) on the rear axle to amplify the natural sound of the electric motors in the cabin.

Ferrari thus seeks to preserve the mechanical thrill and does not let the Ferrari Luce to be a simple silent sedan.

How does Ferrari position itself against its direct competitors?

Ferrari is choosing to accelerate its transition timetable while its historic rivals like Porsche and Lamborghini are backtracking in the face of the slowdown in the high-end electric market.

The Italian manufacturer maintains its production target set for fin 2026 and thus refuses to give in to the prevailing panic on the stock markets. By immediately positioning itself in this ultra-exclusive segment, the brand hopes to attract a technophile clientele who shuns traditional big cars.

The manufacturer controls its entire value chain by manufacturing all the components of this electric model in-house, which must guarantee possible repairs over several decades to preserve resale value.

This industrial independence protects the firm against aggressive competition from Chinese manufacturers. It is a bold commercial strategy which aims to preserve record profitability despite the recent decline in the company’s stock on the stock market.

Will the thermal engine definitely disappear at Ferrari?

The marketing of the Ferrari Luce does not mean the death of gasoline engines, but is part of a logic ofexpansion of the range existing.

Managing director Benedetto Vigna insists the brand will continue to offer three types of engines in parallel to satisfy all buyer profiles. The forecasts for 2030 are based on a strict balance between the different energies available in the catalog.

The roadmap provides for 20% electric models, 40% hybrid models and 40% pure thermal engines. This industrial flexibility reassures purists while respecting increasingly strict international environmental regulations.

It will be necessary to count 600 000 dollars to treat yourself to The Ferrari Luce. Beyond the spirit of the brand that some struggle to find in this new product, comparisons are well underway with other popular electric vehicles, including Tesla models.
