A 3D printer is no longer just for making trinkets. Repairing a room that you can no longer find, creating custom storage, printing toys or decorative objects in several colors, all of this has become accessible at home.

And if you were planning to get started, AliExpress has just come up with a timely offer on one of the most anticipated 3D new products of the moment, the Anycubic Kobra 4 Combo. For the Summer Sales, from June 1 to 10, the e-retailer is displaying promotions in all directions. All categories are covered, with a nice package of big brands featured (Samsung, Google, DJI, GoPro, Xiaomi and many others).

And then there are those that we know a little less about, but which are well worth the detour. Anycubic is one of them. The good news is that its brand new Kobra 4 Combo, delivered with the multicolor ACE 2 Pro unit, drops to 252 euros with the code SS6FR30 and by paying it via PayPal including in 4 installments free of charge. If you opt for another payment method, add 20 euros.

Knowing that Anycubic displays it around 429 euros in normal times, the bill becomes significantly lower. And if color printing doesn’t interest you, the standard version of the Kobra 4 goes down to 181 euros with the code SS6FR20 (compared to 279 euros).

A detail to know, which is not an obstacle. The Kobra 4 is still on pre-order, and AliExpress has confirmed that it will ship in about three weeks. In other words, you lock in this exceptional early-bird price now, and you put your copy aside before the stock of the operation flies away.

Because like every Summer Sales, the best deals disappear quickly, and it’s better not to procrastinate if this one tempts you. For the rest, you have 90 days after receipt to change your mind and get a refund if the machine does not convince you.

Delivery is free from Europe, VAT is already included in the price displayed, and your purchase remains covered by the two-year manufacturer’s warranty. So many safety nets to pre-order with peace of mind.

Why is this printer worth the detour?

A word first about the brand, because not everyone knows it yet. Anycubic, founded in 2015, has become one of the biggest names in consumer 3D printing, with around twenty models on the clock and a clear line, making 3D printing simple and reliable without hefty bills. On AliExpress, it has already been pre-ordered by more than 400 customers, proof that it is an extremely popular product.

The Kobra 4 Combo is its new fast and multicolor 3D printer. It is aimed as much at beginners who want a machine that installs and prints without any hassle as at enthusiasts who dreamed of objects in several colors without paying the price of a Bambu Lab. And its main asset arrives directly in the box, the ACE 2 Pro color unit.

Concretely, it prints natively in four colors and manages color changes by itself during printing, where a traditional printer limits you to just one. You can go further, by adding a second unit to go up to eight colors. Enough to produce figurines, logos, toys or decorative objects in two or three colors without going through the paint box ten times.

And because the ACE 2 Pro dries the filament while it prints, you avoid small defects due to humidity, the nightmare of thread lying around in the open air. The speed is there since the Kobra 4 prints up to 600 mm/s, a rate that consumer printers of two or three years ago were far from reaching, and which significantly shortens the wait on large objects.

To maintain quality at this rate, Anycubic has integrated an accelerometer which measures the machine’s vibrations and corrects tremors on the fly, which erases the small unsightly ripples that we saw appear on rapid prints. A flow compensation system also adjusts the material deposited in real time, for clean and regular surfaces.

Ultra-simple handling

In terms of handling, everything is done so that you don’t have to play engineer. The famous leveling of the board, the step that discouraged so many beginners, is now done entirely alone thanks to a new algorithm that detects and corrects the slightest deviations. You unpack, you load the line, you throw your first object straight away.

The machine is also controlled from the Anycubic app, and a built-in 720p camera lets you monitor your prints remotely. Practical, especially when a room runs for several hours and you are not nearby. For the rest, the Kobra 4 offers a printing volume of 260 x 260 x 260 mm, sufficient for the vast majority of projects, from decorative busts to series of small parts.

Its hardened steel nozzle reaches 300°C and accepts the most common materials, from PLA to PETG to soft TPU, with an interchangeable nozzle diameter depending on the desired finish.

The whole thing remains discreet in use, the ACE 2 Pro emitting a sound level below 48 decibels. Between its speed, its four-color printing expandable to eight, its integrated wire drying and its almost immediate handling, the Kobra 4 Combo combines what has been found until now on much more expensive machines.

To get started with color 3D printing or replace an old, slow and capricious printer, this is one of the most convincing proposals at the moment.
