The start-up Anoria has developed a connected bracelet capable of reading and analyzing our emotions in real time. By collecting vocal signals and biometric data, the object would interpret our mental state and propose concrete solutions to help us manage our emotions. Anoria announces that her bracelet marks the arrival of the era of emotional quotient.

The start-up Anoria has reportedly developed the first connected bracelet capable of reading and analyzing in real time emotions of the one who wears it. In other words, this object would interpret our mental state in real time. On the official Anoria website, the bracelet is presented as a “ Whoop of emotions », in reference to the connected bracelet Whoop.

Anoria, a bracelet that would be able to read our emotions in real time

To explain the origin of this concept, the start-up starts from an observation: “ Technology consumes all our attention, and AI has made intelligence commonplace. Understanding our emotions and their reasons has never been more difficult or more valuable “. If connected watches analyze physical performance and sleep quality, the performance according to Anoria is “ 90% mental “. The start-up then specifies: “ And yet, no one has implemented a feedback system for our emotions ».

Something that would henceforth be done with the Anoria bracelet. But how does this bracelet work? Anoria is powered by FINNISHand « mindset inference model » which analyzes your biometric data, as well as your voice signals, and translates them in real time to define your emotional state. On X, Michael Belhassen, the founder of the start-up, explains: “ Anoria acts as a sixth sense. Using subtle light and haptic signals, it detects changes in your internal state before you even perceive them. She explains the origins and offers you concrete solutions. More than just a tracker, it’s a self-awareness to carry with you ».

The system also generates a “ Flow Score », articulated around three aspects: your energy, your mood and your concentration. This “Flow Score” would evolve continuously depending on the type of interaction, the interlocutor in front of you, the application used, the music listened to or even according to the activity practiced, such as participating in a meeting. And as the founder of Anoria explains, the bracelet offers solutions « concrete » to help you manage your emotions, such as listening to an Eminem song, calling your friend Alex or changing his immediate environment, to use the examples from the start-up.

Era of emotional quotient, leaders of tomorrow and change in the world

With its bracelet, Anoria explains that it targets founders, leaders and creatives above all. The start-up, which defines itself as “ a human interactions company “, also announces that its bracelet marks the arrival of the era of ” QE “, that’s to say the era of emotional quotientin complementarity (or in opposition?) with the intelligence quotient. On X, Anoria’s marketing director, Reblaub (her username), believes that ” Tomorrow’s leaders won’t be the smartest in the room, they’ll be the most self-aware ».

On YouTube, we are entitled to a announcement video which is somewhat reminiscent of the American festival Burning Man and its dimension of transcendence. As such, the voice-over explains that changing tools can make it possible to “ change our view of the world ».

Finally, note that Michael Belhassen, the founder of Anoria, presents himself as a former Apple employee who spent 5 years designing iPhones, including the iPhone 17 Pro case. He would have been obsessed for 10 years by this question: “ can human emotions be understood and measured scientifically? “. Furthermore, the Anoria team is made up of former engineers from Apple and Meta. It now remains to be seen if this bracelet will really be able to read our emotions and if it will not be blocked at the borders of the European Union.
