Vivo has approved an internal project to develop a Vlog camera, aiming to compete directly with DJI’s Pocket series of portable imaging devices, according to Jiemian. The product is expected to be released in 2026 and will focus on a lightweight design and AI-powered stabilization technology, targeting Vloggers and photography enthusiasts. The Chinese smartphone maker is likely to leverage its existing expertise in mobile imaging, including gimbal stabilization and computational photography. Vivo is also expected to rely on its extensive offline retail network to expand distribution into lower-tier cities. The move marks a broader push by smartphone brands into the handheld imaging market. [Jiemian, in Chinese]
