Alibaba has reportedly established the Alibaba Token Hub, a new business group directly overseen by Chief Executive Eddie Wu, as the Chinese tech giant accelerates the rollout of its AI strategy. The unit will focus on creating, distributing and applying “tokens” — the basic computing units used by AI models — while integrating several internal teams. The structure is designed to cover the full AI stack, from foundation model development to enterprise-level AI applications.
Alibaba also unveiled the Wukong division for the first time, positioning it as a B2B AI-native workplace platform aimed at embedding model capabilities into enterprise workflows. The restructuring highlights Alibaba’s plan to use tokens as a key lever to build its AI ecosystem and accelerate commercialization in the emerging AI era. [IThome, in Chinese]
