CES 2026: Ludens AI unveils warm-touch companion robot Cocomo · TechNode

Startup Ludens AI unveiled Cocomo, a companion robot designed to focus on warmth and emotional interaction, at the CES 2026 technology show. Cocomo is positioned as an autonomous robotic pet that can move independently on a wheeled base, follow its owner around the home and interact through voice and touch. The version displayed at the show featured an orange outer covering with ear-like attachments, giving it a pet-inspired appearance.

The company said Cocomo’s outer shell is engineered to maintain a temperature close to that of the human body, at around 37 degrees Celsius, to avoid the cold tactile sensation typical of robots. When frequently touched, the temperature can rise to about 39 degrees Celsius, according to Ludens AI.

Unlike voice assistants or humanoid robots, Cocomo does not speak. Instead, it communicates its status and emotions through humming and other non-verbal sounds, a design choice the company said was intended to make interactions feel more animal-like. [TechNode Reporting]
