Artificial intelligence is a challenge for the education system. It has never been so easy to do homework without even having a basic understanding of the task. But growing up with AI also has positive sides: Young users find a playful approach to IT. The technology lowers the barriers to entry enormously: anyone who wants to program a browser game no longer needs months of practice. A few targeted prompts are enough to create a working game.
For the nationwide Future Day, we at heise-Verlag are teaching student groups some possible uses of artificial intelligence: Using an interactive AI workflow, young people learn how to create a game character with free-to-use cloud AIs, which can then be used in a vibe-coded browser game.
- With the support of an AI, you can create game characters in just a few steps that can be used in a vibe-coded browser game.
- AI station on Future Day: Students learn about the creative use of generative AI in a practical way.
- The workflow shows how to design a figure using image AI, automatically derive different perspectives from it and export them for the browser game.
The article briefly explains the concept of the station and the structure of the workflow in detail. You can easily recreate it. It consists of the development of a game character including AI-assisted image prompt generation. You can then play your own character in a 2D world in the browser. In the article we provide the prompts, software tools used and the code for the game.
