The week is off to a bad start for Orange and Sosh subscribers. Since dawn this Monday, June 29, 2026, a national outage has deprived thousands of users of calls and mobile Internet. An update on the situation and the start of the operator’s explanation.

It’s a cold shower to start the week. Since dawn this Monday, June 29, 2026, Orange’s mobile network, as well as that of its subsidiary Sosh, has been going through a very large zone of turbulence throughout France. Across the country, thousands of customers woke up cut off from the world: impossible to make a single phone call or receive data on 4G or 5G. A real ordeal that blocks both private communications and professional imperatives.

Thousands of subscribers deprived of network across France

On social networks, the mustard quickly rose to the noses of subscribers from 6 a.m., with Internet users searching en masse to know if they were the only ones to see their network bars disappear. The panic effect snowballed, which independent platforms immediately quantified. At around 8 a.m., the Downdetector barometer saw its graphs explode, suddenly crossing the 1,000 alert mark for Orange, supplemented by a large wave of reports from Sosh.

The technical monitoring tools on the Zone ADSL&Fibre site corroborate this trend by recording strong activity on Orange’s mobile outages, while the competition’s curves remain desperately flat. A critical situation which prompted the operator to react.

Orange comes out of silence and confirms a technical incident

In a short message shared on its official X account (formerly Twitter), management confirms that a major technical incident is indeed underway on its infrastructure. According to the company’s admissions, the malfunctions are not limited to simple proximity calls, but actively paralyze 4G and 5G data connections, roaming services for travelers abroad, as well as several critical network solutions operated by the companies. Orange assures that its teams of engineers are on deck to diagnose the heart of the fault and promises a return to normal as quickly as possible, while apologizing to the millions of impacted customers.

Since this morning, a technical incident has affected part of Orange’s mobile services, with disruptions to 4G, 5G, roaming as well as certain services intended for businesses.

How do I work around the issue while waiting for a fix?

Since the failure comes directly from the operator’s infrastructure, no manipulation on your smartphone will force the return of the traditional cellular network. However, you can implement some temporary solutions to continue communicating, starting with enabling Wi-Fi calling in your phone settings if you have working fixed internet access at home or in the office. For your text exchanges or calls, favor instant messaging applications connected to Wi-Fi. Finally, if the problem persists even though Orange announces a resolution, a simple restart of your device or brief activation of airplane mode will force a search for the restored signal.

Even if the Orange network is historically renowned for its great stability and regularly takes the top places in reliability rankings, this Monday morning outage paralyzes many connected services and payment systems. This article will be updated as soon as the operator provides technical details.
