Chinese drone maker DJI said it will launch its Lito X1 series on April 23, marking the debut of what is expected to be its first new consumer drone line this year. The model, which has appeared in filings with the FCC under the code SS3-DGP14, is widely expected to succeed the Mini 5 Pro and target advanced imaging users, according to people familiar with the matter. The Lito X1 is expected to feature DJI’s next-generation O5 transmission system, with a range of more than 20 km. It could also integrate 5G cellular connectivity through software-defined radio technology, the sources said.

For safety, the drone is likely to include a 360-degree obstacle avoidance system combining fisheye cameras, LiDAR-like sensors with a detection range of up to 10 meters, and infrared modules. It may also support voice commands and gesture-based controls. [IThome, in Chinese]
