The planned data center, which will cost around ten billion euros, is intended to help reduce Europe’s dependence on American and Chinese cloud services, reports the Reuters news agency.
The consortium includes several French companies, namely the tech companies Artefact, Bull and Capgemini, the telecommunications providers Orange and Iliad (including its RZ subsidiary Scaleway), the investment company Ardian and the energy supplier EDF.
