A SUPERSIZED telly from top-brand Samsung is on sale for just £299.
The 55-inch 4K model – which only came out in 2025 – has been discounted in a “special offer” at Argos.
This particular model has not-so-easy-to-recall name of Samsung 55 Inch UE55U7000FK Smart 4K UHD HDR LED TV.
The main takeaways for most buyers will be that the screen measures 55 inches from corner to corner, serves up 4K resolution for your Ultra HD movies, and supports HDR content too (so that’s better contrast and a wider range of colours).
And it’s a Samsung model, so it comes with a vast selection of features, apps, and a special free treat too. Normally this unit is £329, which is already a decent price – but at £299, it’s much more of a steal.

Footy fans receive mega telly boost just in time for the World Cup 2026
Samsung is one of the top telly brands in the world, and this is one of last year’s models.
It’s got an LED-backlit display with a 4K resolution, which means you get upwards of eight million pixels.
So you can render the full detail of 4K content – which you might find on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video – in its native resolution.
More pixels means a great opportunity for increased detail when you’re watching movies.

And there’s also an upscaling feature that artificially boosts the resolution of non-4K content. It won’t be as good as true 4K, but it’s something.
It’s also a HDR TV, which stands for High Dynamic Range.
That means you can play HDR content, which delivers brighter whites and darker blacks.
Samsung notes that it supports HDR10 and HDR 10+ formats too.
The telly runs on Samsung’s own Tizen OS, which has all the usual apps that you’d like.
The typical offerings are there, including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, YouTube, Now TV and more.
But it also gets you access to Samsung’s own TV service, which doesn’t cost a penny.
It’s called Samsung TV Plus and it’s an ad-supported service packed with hundreds of channels, as well as on-demand movies and TV shows.
So if you want a bit of free telly, it’s not a bad option.
For connectivity, you’ve got built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, plus the option for a direct Ethernet connection.
There’s a USB port if you want to plug in a storage drive loaded up with media.
And there are three HDMI sockets, which gives you the option to plug in a selection of gadgets – for instance, an Amazon Fire TV Stick, a Sky TV box, and a video games console of your choice.
