Huawei today unveiled the world’s most powerful SuperPoDs and SuperClusters at the opening of HUAWEI CONNECT 2025. Eric Xu, Huawei’s Rotating Chairman, said in his keynote that computing power remains the core of AI development and that Huawei aims to meet long-term demand in a sustainable way. The company introduced the Atlas 950 SuperPoD (8,192 Ascend NPUs) and Atlas 960 SuperPoD (15,488 Ascend NPUs), both delivering enhanced performance in computing power, memory, and interconnect bandwidth. Huawei also launched the Atlas 950 SuperCluster (over 500,000 NPUs) and Atlas 960 SuperCluster (over 1 million NPUs), which deliver superior performance compared with existing large-scale computing clusters, according to Huawei. Additionally, Huawei released the world’s first general-purpose computing SuperPoD, the TaiShan 950 SuperPoD, which can work with GaussDB to replace mainframes and high-end database servers. To address interconnect bottlenecks, Huawei introduced the UnifiedBus 2.0 protocol, aiming to build an open ecosystem with industry partners. With its advanced SuperPoD, SuperCluster, and interconnect technologies, Huawei is ready to provide abundant computing power to fuel the future of AI, Xu said.
