Indie App Spotlight: ‘VariAlarm’ brings proper schedules to your alarm clock – 9to5Mac
SHARE

Welcome to Indie App Spotlight. This is a weekly 9to5Mac series where we showcase the latest apps in the indie app world. If you’re a developer and would like your app featured, get in contact.

Juggling loads of alarms in the Clock app can be annoying. VariAlarm aims to fix this, by dynamically adjusting your alarms based on your schedule, rather than having fixed times.

Highlights

Instead of having to constantly toggle a dozen plus alarms over and over again, VariAlarm lets you build templates. For example, if you have a Gym day, you might want a 5:45am alarm followed by a nudge at 6am. On a work day, you might want something slightly different, say 7am wakeup. VariAlarm eliminates the need to go into your alarm app every night.

VariAlarm also supports syncing with Apple Calendar, allowing you to keep your schedule up to date with your alarms. If you have a meeting in the morning to wake up for, for example, then it gets moved, your alarms will shift. VariAlarm also takes advantage of the new alarms API in iOS 26 to provide a native feeling experience.

To tune things in for your routine, VariAlarm allows you to adjust the volume and length of your alarms. There’s also lock screen widgets to help keep you aware.

Download the app

VariAlarm is available for free on the App Store for iPhone users running iOS 26 and later. For the full experience, including additional templates, automations, and scheduling, you can check out VariAlarm Pro for $1.99/month or $14.99/year. There’s a 7 day free trial for the subscription options, but for a limited time, you can purchase VariAlarm lifetime for $14.99 once.
