Smart glasses have spent years promising a future that never quite arrived, but the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer makes a compelling case that the category has finally caught up with the concept.

And right now at EE, the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer AI Glasses are down from £299 to £179, saving you £120.

EE’s latest offer knocks the price down on Ray‑Ban Meta Wayfarer glasses, putting stylish AI eyewear within easier reach

With this offer, the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer represents a rare moment where a genuinely capable piece of wearable tech becomes accessible.

The framing as sunglasses matters here, because unlike most smart wearables, these are something you would actually choose to wear on looks alone, with the classic Wayfarer silhouette doing a lot of the heavy lifting before any tech feature enters the picture.

Underneath that familiar frame, there is a 12MP camera capable of shooting 3024x4032px stills and recording 1440x1920px video at 30fps, with five built-in microphones handling voice commands and producing clear audio for calls and video capture.

The 32GB of onboard storage holds up to 500 photos or 100 thirty-second videos, and the Meta AI app manages syncing, sharing, and settings directly from your phone whether you are running Android 10 or iOS 14.4 and above.

Battery life runs to four hours on the glasses themselves, but the included charging case extends that to a claimed 36 hours of total use, which covers most realistic daily scenarios without needing a cable mid-day.

The open-ear speaker setup means you can take calls, listen to music, and interact with Meta AI without blocking ambient sound, which makes them considerably more practical as an everyday wearable than anything requiring earbuds.

IPX4 water resistance adds a degree of peace of mind in light rain, though the charging case is not water resistant and should be kept dry.

Worth noting is that a Meta account and the Meta AI app are required for full functionality, and certain AI features including real-time translation are only available in select countries and languages, so check availability before buying.

At £120 off, the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer represents a rare moment where a genuinely capable piece of wearable tech becomes accessible enough that sitting on the fence starts to feel like the costlier option.
