Need Another Place to Scroll? Disney+ Adds TikTok-Like Recommendation Feed

Your next Disney+ binge-watch recommendation may come courtesy of the streamer’s new TikTok-like vertical video clips.

Dubbed Verts, the videos are designed to entice you to watch something new. Disney first announced them at CES in January, and now they’re rolling out to all users across the US. ESPN introduced a similar feature under the same name last year for sports clips.

“Verts offers a fun, fast way to explore that catalog right from the moment users open the app,” Disney says. “It brings the magic of Disney’s storytelling into a format that feels modern, engaging, and tailor-made for how fans already enjoy discovering video on mobile devices.”

Disney says this is one of the best ways to search its catalog of content, spanning 100+ years. You’ll find the option at the bottom of the mobile app. As you scroll through videos, you’ll see two buttons on the right-hand side: one to add to the watchlist and another to watch it now.

Disney notes that its recommendation algorithm makes clips feel “uniquely relevant and personalized to each user.” It sounds like Disney will use your watch history to determine which clips appear. If you watch a lot of reality TV, it could recommend Taylor Swift’s tour documentary, while those who like blockbuster movies may get Star Wars clips.

Disney says it plans to eventually expand the feature beyond trailers and clips. “The team is exploring and experimenting with ways to expand far beyond content discovery.”

Disney’s partnership with OpenAI may eventually come to Verts. The brand announced in December that it would work with the company behind ChatGPT to allow users to create AI-generated video clips of its characters and locations within OpenAI’s Sora platform. Disney said it would let users share them with friends, so it may use these clips to keep people engaged.

Disclosure: Ziff Davis, PCMag’s parent company, filed a lawsuit against OpenAI in April 2025, alleging it infringed Ziff Davis copyrights in training and operating its AI systems.
