OpenAI accelerates its strategy of ChatGPT monetization with the launch of its Ads Managera self-service advertising platform now in beta in the United States.

It must make advertising on ChatGPT more accessible, especially for small and medium-sized businesses that could not reach the minimum spending threshold previously required.

The new features of this advertising platform

A self-service model allows advertisers to sign up, manage their budgets and launch campaigns in real time. OpenAI introduces cost-per-click bidding (CPC), which is added to the cost per thousand impressions (CPM).

This change gives advertisers greater flexibility to align their spend with direct performance indicators, such as a click engaging a user.

OpenAI also announced enhanced measurement tools, including API and pixel tracking to analyze conversions such as purchases or registrations.

How did OpenAI prepare for this launch?

This launch is not a surprise and follows several months of pilot phase testing with a select group of advertisers.

During this time, OpenAI has collaborated with partner agencies and ad tech companies, including Adobe and Criteo. These partnerships made it possible to refine the platform before its wider opening.

” We are creating a new advertising model that supports businesses and broader access to AI, while remaining true to clear principles ofindependence of responsesconfidentiality and user control. “

An ambitious goal this year

OpenAI’s entry into the advertising market is part of a trend where AI companies are looking to diversify their revenue to cover growing infrastructure costs.

A stated objective is to achieve $2.5 billion in advertising revenue This year. Remember that advertisements on ChatGPT (free and ChatGPT Go) are still limited to only a few countries.
