If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to upgrade your smartphone, Samsung has just made a very compelling argument for doing it sooner rather than later.
Revealed at Galaxy Unpacked today, the Galaxy S26 range – comprised of the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra – is up for pre-order now ahead of its release on 11 March. That might not sound that exciting by itself, but Samsung is trying to tempt fans with a free storage upgrade during the pre-order period.
The deal is simple but effective; if you pre-order any handset in the range before the general release date on 11 March, Samsung will bump you up to the next storage tier at no extra cost. For the base S26 and S26 Plus, that means paying for the 256GB model and getting the 512GB model.

It’s even more enticing if you go for the top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra, as pre-ordering the 512GB variant will net you the 1TB model – a saving of hundreds – which also comes with a boosted 16GB of RAM instead of the regular 12GB.
Prices for the range start at £879 for the S26, £1,099 for the S26 Plus, and £1,279 for the S26 Ultra. Again, these usually come with 256GB storage, but you’ll get 512GB instead for a limited time.
It’s also worth heading directly to Samsung’s official online store to place your order; not only will you secure the free storage upgrade, but you’ll also get access to exclusive “online only” colour options that won’t be available at third-party retailers or through mobile networks.
There are plenty of reasons to upgrade to Samsung’s latest flagships too – especially the top-end S26 Ultra. The true S26 flagship sports a slimmer, lighter design with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy power, even when the S26 and S26 Plus use Samsung’s Exynos 2600 (in most regions outside of the US, anyway) – but it’s the screen that’s the real highlight.
That’s because the Galaxy S26 Ultra sports a built-in privacy display, controlled at a per-pixel level. The end result is not too dissimilar from privacy screen protectors, essentially reducing the viewing angles of the screen so only you can see what’s happening, but that tech is built into the screen itself.
It also means you can hide specific elements of the screen, like notifications, or specific apps like mobile banking, to stop prying eyes from seeing what you’re doing. And, when it’s not needed, you can toggle it off completely. It’s a world-first, never seen before in a smartphone.
The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus offer more moderate upgrades in comparison, but with a bigger battery and slightly larger 6.3-inch screen in the base S26 and improved Galaxy AI features across the range, they remain tempting upgrades for those on older Galaxy devices.
All three are available for pre-order in the UK, US, Europe and most other regions ahead of launch in March – but you’ll have to be quick if you want that free storage upgrade.
