Humanoid robots are being used more and more often – not just in warehouses or factories, but also in households or in restaurants, as service workers.

Since the technology is still fairly new, not everything is working according to plan. Recently, a video went viral showing a robot being taken away by police after scaring an elderly woman.

Dancing robot causes chaos

Sometimes humanoid robots can also lead to funny scenes – like in this case in the USA. The “crime scene” was a hot pot restaurant in San Jose, California. There, a robot that was scheduled to be a service worker suddenly started dancing – causing chaos in the restaurant.

Editorial recommendations

Because when he became a dancer, he dismantled dishes and threw chopsticks through the air. In the background you can hear the laughter of the numerous surprised guests while the staff has their hands full trying to capture the dancing robot. The scene becomes even funnier than it already is when you take a look at the robot’s orange apron, where “I’m fine” is emblazoned in large letters.

Three employees are needed to stop the robot

An employee held the robot by the neck while pressing on a smartphone – presumably to search for control options in the robot’s app.

Ultimately, it took three employees to tame the robot that had gone wild. All three had to duck repeatedly to avoid being hit by his waving and food-smeared hands.

“This is how the ‘Terminator’ saga really begins”

According to Futurism, the incident apparently occurred as part of a promotional event for the Disney film “Zoomania 2” at a Haidilao store in California. As Chinese business and financial news portal Jiemian Global reports, the Chinese restaurant chain Haidilao is operated by an international holding company known for investing in automated kitchens with robot chefs and delivery robots.

“This is how the ‘Terminator’ saga really begins,” one person tweeted about the hilarious scene. “Not with a bang, but with a dance.”
