Samsung has been running the One UI 8.5 beta on the Galaxy S25 series for a few months now, but we still don’t have official information about its final release. A new rumor could give us a clue about when that stable release may launch.

Galaxy S25 may get a stable One UI 8.5 in about a month

The Galaxy S25 may soon get the final version of One UI 8.5 as Samsung is reportedly planing to launch a total of ten beta updates for its new software. According to leaker Tarun Vats, the company have two more releases planned for April:

  • Beta 9 – expected around April 9
  • Beta 10 – expected around April 20

That timeline fits Samsung’s recent schedule, which included new beta releases about once every two weeks. If Vats’ claims that there will be only ten betas are true, we may get a stable release in about a month.

Who is getting the One UI 8.5 update first

Samsung hasn’t shared any official information about the One UI 8.5 release schedule, but it would be safe to assume that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will get it first. If things go on schedule, that should happen in early May.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 have also received a number of beta updates, suggesting they could also be among the first to get a stable release. The Galaxy S25 FE got its first One UI 8.5 beta update in the end of March, so there’s a chance it won’t get the final version with the rest of the S25 devices.

The other beta-testing devices

Another signal that things are finally rolling for Samsung are the latest One UI 8.5 releases. The company just announced the beta software will launch on the following devices:
Besides that, a One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy S23 series was spotted on the company’s tests servers. That means launching the software to the public is only a matter of time.

Launch it already, Samsung

Running through ten releases before finally launching your software seems excessive to me. I’m all in for polishing all rough edges before launch, but One UI 8.5 has been publicly out for weeks on the Galaxy S26 phones and it shouldn’t take months before extending it to older devices.
