TL;DR

  • Some Galaxy S26 Ultra users have been experiencing blurry photos when shooting at 3x zoom.
  • It appears the problem gets worse when shooting in low light with the flash on.
  • Samsung has released a fix in the April 2026 security patch.

Now that the Galaxy S26 Ultra has been out for a few weeks, you’ve probably had some time to play around with the cameras. If you think you noticed some blurriness when shooting at 3x zoom, you’re not imagining things. Owners have been reporting seeing the same issue with their handsets. Fortunately, Samsung is on top of it and already has a fix ready.

Over on Samsung’s community forum, users have been submitting reports about blurry photos when shooting at 3x zoom. According to one user (via MOJO Trick), the image quality was “off” when taking pictures in a bright environment. However, they noticed that the problem got worse when shooting in low light with the flash on.

After sending the logs to Samsung, the user says they received the following reply:

This issue is scheduled to be fixed and improved in a future software upgrade. Please understand that it may take some time for the fix to be reflected and the version to be released, so we are unable to provide a detailed release schedule at this time.

An official community moderator has now responded to this report. According to the moderator, this issue was addressed in the most recent software update. Samsung recently pushed out its April 2026 security patch; it’s likely the moderator is referring to this update.

If you’re also experiencing blurriness in your 3x zoom shots, then you’ll want to download the April 2026 security patch as soon as possible. You can update your phone by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
