German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, accompanied by a delegation, visited Zhejiang province on Thursday and toured Unitree Robotics in Hangzhou, a leading Chinese robotics company. During the visit, Unitree founder Wang Xingxing showcased the company’s latest innovations, including the quadruped robot Unitree As2 and humanoid robots G1 and H2. Live demonstrations featured the robots performing boxing, dancing, and martial arts routines.

Wang expressed optimism about the potential of the German market, emphasizing the opportunity for deeper collaboration with German enterprises to accelerate the global development of intelligent robotics. The visit comes amid a period of growing Sino-German economic ties, with Merz seeking to identify new areas of cooperation in emerging technologies. [TechNode Reporting]
