Google announced the deployment of several Gemini Intelligence features on Android to automate certain tasks directly on your devices. Book a vacation, make an appointment from Chrome, fill out a form: AI will soon be able to do these actions for you. In addition, a new feature will allow you to transform your fragmented thoughts into structured texts

Artificial intelligence agentic is about to conquer Android. Google announced the deployment of several features of Gemini Intelligence within its operating system. AI will soon no longer just answer questions, it will perform tasks directly on your devices to “ help you automate tedious tasks so you can focus on what matters ”, in the words of Google.

Google specifies that these new features will be deployed in waves. The latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones will be able to benefit from it this summer. Then, a deployment on all Android devices (watches, cars, connected glasses, laptops) will take place later in the year.

Gemini will do tasks for you

Do you need to find a course program lost somewhere in your Gmail inbox to complete a basket of books on Amazon? Gemini can go get it and complete the basket. Would you like to reserve a place for a show? Gemini takes care of it. As you will have understood, we are talking about agentic AI here. Gemini no longer just answers questions, it performs tasks directly on your Android device.

Additionally, Google’s AI is capable of understand the context of the screen to perform actions. For example, if you are presented with a shopping list in the Notes application, all you need to do is ask Gemini to create a shopping cart with all these items for delivery, without leaving the Notes application. A long press of the power button and a voice command to Gemini will be enough.

Gemini also understands the context of a photo. If you take a photo of a travel brochure showing a tour to a beautiful place, and ask Gemini “ find a tour like this on Expedia for a group of six ”, the AI will execute.

Whether for the visual context of a screen or the context of a photo, you will receive notifications alerting you to the progress of Gemini’s work. Of course, you can ask the AI to stop its search at any time. Important point: the user must always validate the final confirmation. In theory, Gemini will not take the liberty of booking a trip for six people without your confirmation.

Gemini takes pride of place in Chrome

Whether you like it or not, Gemini is going to live in your Chrome browser. Google’s AI will answer your questions, help you do research or even summarize and compare content. The most common tasks, such as making an appointment or reserving a parking space, can also be carried out by AI, directly from Chrome. In particular, “Skills” will be integrated into the browser soon. In France, we are still waiting for the deployment of Gemini in Chrome…

Gemini will fill out your forms online

Whether on Chrome or in an application, Gemini will be able to fill out a form by searching for information in the various connected applications, in just a few seconds. So no more spending your time gathering different information and entering it letter after letter, number after number. But above all, this feature will make filling out forms on a smartphone screen much easier. Important point: automatic form filling by Gemini can be activated or disabled so you can keep control of certain tasks.

The Rambler feature will transform your fragmented thoughts into structured texts

Feed scattered thoughts to Rambler and transform them into structured text. You just need to express yourself naturally for this tool to identify the important elements and structure them in a concise message. Gemini would also be able to manage the transition from one language to another within the same message, while understanding the nuances of context.

Custom widgets

The generative user interface is on the horizon. With the Create My Widget feature, you can ask Gemini to create custom widgetsaccording to your wishes. As an example, if you ask the AI “ suggests three high-protein meal prep recipes each week », it will generate a personalized dashboard to add to your home screen.
