The Redmond firm is not only focusing on Windows 11. Its roadmap for Microsoft 365 reveals ambitious plans for its collaboration tools. In the coming months, users of its applications will discover features designed to make their daily lives more fluid, ranging from better resource management to a more advanced AI assistance.

How will Teams become more customizable and ergonomic?

Microsoft is tackling the interface of its collaborative application head-on. There meetings toolbar will in fact be profoundly modified to offer more flexibility. Users will soon be able to pin, unpin and reorder orders according to their own preferences, a direct response to requests for a more granular control of the workspace.

In this same ergonomic logic, the “ Raise your hand » will be grouped under the “Reactions” menu to limit accidental clicks. The “Exit” button will be judiciously isolated to the far right of the bar to avoid involuntary departures. These changes, planned for June, could be confusing at first but aim for greater efficiency in the long term.

How will Teams work better on less powerful computers?

The big news for users with modest hardware is the arrival of a “ Efficiency mode “. This mode, designed for limited configurations, will automatically adjust the application configuration in order to reduce your resource consumption. The collaborative tool Microsoft Teams thus adapts to material constraints.

The objective is clear: maintain a excellent meeting quality and flawless responsiveness, even when system resources are limited. Microsoft has not yet clarified whether this mode will be a manual or automatic option, but its deployment is expected for May. Other additions like breakout rooms for 1,000 participants are also planned for June.

Outlook

How will Copilot transform the use of Outlook?

On the messaging side Outlookartificial intelligence takes an even more central place. The application will integrate summaries generated by Copilot directly at the top of the search results. This function will allow you to quickly grasp the essentials of an exchange without having to read all the emails, a considerable time saving.

By clicking on this summary, it will be possible to open a conversation with the assistant Copilot pour deepen the research or ask contextual questions. Microsoft also simplifies multi-account management: users will be able to switch between their different profiles from the calendar side panel. Finally, a new option will allow you to “follow” a missed meeting from your mobile, thus encouraging the organizer to record it. These new features are expected for June and July 2026.
